Ok…I know what some of you are thinking….WHY on earth would you support Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics brand. I’m asking that question myself. I tend to HAVE to try out things that are constantly sold out, hence why I jumped on the old bandwagon here. Don’t worry. I don’t even watch tv, and if I do, it’s Fixer Upper all the way or Expedition Unknown (my husband and I are ADDICTED to this show on the travel channel)…especially now that I have a young daughter. I’m not trying to sound judgmental either. I just believe that if you are that famous, you should focus on trying to make young girls BETTER people from the inside out. That’s all that I’m going to say about that!
On to the Kylie Cosmetics Lipgloss in So Cute….This was the only thing not sold out on the website last week when I signed on. It was only 15$, which is not bad for a lip product, but shipping gets you. The gloss comes in a really beautiful tube, that feels weighty and not cheap. I do like the design and the font she used as well! The gloss itself has a really nice texture too it, not overly sticky and not too slippery either. The applicator is a small brush, not a doe foot. It wears very nicely and lasts pretty long, but not longer than any other glosses on the market. it smells a little like vanilla cake. The only real problem i have with it is that I cannot just apply it and go. It is very opaque, like a lot of glosses that are in this nude range, which means you can tend to look really sick or dead if you don’t kind of blot some of it off. I think this color would work much better for someone with Kylie’s skin tone. I’ve noticed this concept with a lot of her lip products, where the opposite is also true. I see people with very pale skin wearing some of the dark shades and feel like that can look vampy, almost scary if you don’t have a little color to your skin.
Bottom line is, there are other glosses on the market that honestly do the exact same thing. This is not something that really stands out to me as being unique or different, besides the packaging. If you don’t want to wait for her constant restock (which is such a marketing ploy in my opinion), grab some of this for 6$:
