I saw a beautiful picture on Beautylish of a model wearing this Kjaer Weis Eyshadow in Blue Wonder and thought it was such a unique color. I had to try it. This looks almost like a country blue/navy in the pan but upon application I noticed some aqua green in it as well. This is the first organic eyeshadow I have really tried to be honest.
Luxurious, organic ingredients include:
• Bamboo which is rich in natural silicone and important in the synthesis of collagen in the connective tissue
• Honeysuckle Extract which is antibacterial and works as a natural preservative
• Gardenia Florida Fruit Extract which is an antioxidant and also works as a natural preservative
Produced in Italy. CCPB Certified Organic. Gluten Free. No artificial ingredients. Not tested on animals.
To be honest, I did not have a brush out of all my brushes that I own that actually applied this eyeshadow correctly. This is not an eyeshadow that you can blend out really. You have to wear it at full impact or else you will look like you got punched in both eyes! (I first tried blending it out because I could not for the life of me put it on smoothly). The only way it worked to pack it on correctly was with my finger but then that made it go in places that I didn’t want so I had to clean it up with a q-tip. Eesh. I kid you not…20 minutes of eyeshadow application for this. It must be the formula of the eyeshadow that made it difficult to work with, but I did love the bold outcome. I am not one to wear bright shadows like this out, but my husband commented on how my eyes looked so cool without me asking him about it, so I ended up wearing it for the day like that. I don’t think a bottom line is necessary with such a bold eyeshadow and wore a muted lip and cheeks, otherwise you can look clownish.
Bottom line is…this is a beautiful and very unique color but based on the formula and the difficulty of application, I’m not sure I would purchase other bold colors like this from Kjaer Weis’s line. The lighter colors may work better because the splotchiness may be a little less obnoxious. Maybe a primer before hand would help as well, not sure.
Hope you are all having a lovely sunday.
